Biography
Kate Ehrlich is a Senior Technical Staff Member in the Collaborative User Experience group in IBM Research, responsible for developing new practices for collaboration that leverage talents and expertise from research and consulting. Kate is a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Previously Kate was founder and principal of Collaborative Practices where Kate applied her knowledge and experience of human and social behavior to develop innovative collaborative solutions using technology to meet individual and organizational needs. Kate’s background includes high level design of software products, including an expertise location system. Her current interests are in emerging organizational forms and their implications for the role of the individual as an agent of change.

Kate holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from the University of Sussex and a B.Sc in Psychology from the University of London. She has held executive leadership positions in professional societies for human computer interaction and collaborative work.
