IBM Research - Almaden Colloquium : Planet Scale Analytics
One of several special events marking IBM's Centennial, IBM Research Colloquia will convene the world's foremost thought leaders and experts for a series of talks on topics of vital interest to business and society in the spirit of sharing ideas and fostering collaboration across traditional sectors.
On Tuesday, September 20, IBM Research - Almaden in San Jose, California will bring together esteemed leaders from healthcare, energy, water, government and finance, alongside bleeding edge computer scientists to debate and discuss the emerging wave of massive scale data and the rise of analytics.
With the explosive growth of structured and unstructured data generated by humans and devices - within traditional organizational walls as well as across the Internet - there is a growing need to understand how to integrate and rationalize data; then enhance, model and analyze that data; and finally, transform that analysis into actionable foresight.
Entitled "Planet Scale Analytics" the sessions will enable experts from these diverse domains to establish conversations, make new connections and identify the issues that will drive new progress.
