Successful progress in science and engineering nearly always requires teamwork. The Scientific
Services department enables research and development by working in partnership with technical
personnel. The resources available in Scientific Services range from chemical and materials
analysis to electronic design and fabrication. Because of the variety of research done at
Almaden, Scientific Services personnel must be flexible in their interactions. Some of the
projects require extensive involvement with those responsible for the research or development
project, including making contributions to the initial discussions. Other projects may require
little more than simple measurements. This department must keep abreast of current science and
technology to provide state-of-the-art instrumentation and design. Scientific Services provides
an effective path to progress through collaborative partnerships.
